Internal Competitions

My name is Sebastian Beck and I am the Director of Competitions for 2026.

Competitions is a fantastic way to diversify your University experience, and gain practical skills in written and oral advocacy, as well as research skills within unfamiliar areas of law. The LSA Competitions portfolio runs a number of moots across various topics and targeted at various skill levels. From the Junior Moot to the Senior Moot, with the various specialist moots in between, the Competitions program provides you with career ready skills. But ... you will also have fun along the way. Mooting is a fantastic opportunity to meet people, strengthen and build new friendships, and network with Practitioners who kindly assist by Judging the various competitions.

Competitions is one of the busiest portfolios in the LSA, and I could not do it alone. My Officers, Magdalini, Atena, Flanna, Aakifa and Nura provide invaluable support: running moots weekly, assisting in administrative work and advertising competitions to the broader student body. So on behalf of the Competitions Portfolio for 2026, we look forward to seeing you compete throughout the year!
